Volunteering
Volunteers are the lifeblood of our Society; without them we would not exist. We rely on volunteers freely giving their time and effort to present our attractions to the public. There is also maintenance and general improvements to be made and here volunteers also play an essential part . On open days our Society requires essential tramway locomotive drivers and guards together with ore roasting kilns and museum guides. We also need volunteers to cater for special tour groups. Anyone interested in giving their time is welcome to join our friendly and dedicated team of volunteers. Full training is given for the respective roles and a duty manager is in charge on operating days. If you have skills in various fields and just like to help on the mechanical, maintenance, or other aspects of our organisation, we will welcome you. Volunteers generally enjoy greeting and meeting visitors. Volunteer value is immeasurable to not-for-profit organisations like ours. They make a strong contribution to the development of a healthier, safer and more successful community and district. In working to preserve our heritage they significantly raise the sense of national identity and belonging. If you would like to help our organisation by becoming a volunteer, please contact us... |
