We are OPEN Saturdays, Sundays & Public Holidays from 10am to 3pm

A sandwich board on the Walkway-Rail Trail indicates visitors can walk or cycle up the hill to the large concrete Transformer House.

When we are open two flags flutter on poles outside the Transformer House.

There are reasonable charges made for the tramway ride and guided tours or a reduced overall charge if the visitor wishes to do all three, There is also special prices for families.

EFTPOS now available (no creditcards or cash-out).

Group bookings

Special group tramway rides and guided tours can be arranged  on days we are not normally open.

We cater for school groups with each teacher-in-charge receiving our Teacher Resource Kit as a useful guide for added classroom study.

Tramway pick-ups and drop-offs at the lower vehicle parking area platform for the less active or disabled folk can be arranged too.

By prior arrangement the train can pick-up groups who walk over the Ohinemuri River Walkway bridge from the Waikino railway station.
